Forward Billy Bodin looks set to leave Swindon Town after asking for a loan move away from the League Two club.

The 19-year-old has started three games for Paolo di Canio's side this season but was left out of the squad for their 2-1 defeat by Oxford on Sunday.

And the club have recently purchased QPR striker Leon Clarke and Czech Republic international Lukas Magera.

Di Canio told BBC Wiltshire: "Billy asked me to go as he realised with new strikers he doesn't have many chances."

He added: "Billy says he wants to play regular football and I couldn't stop him because he's young.

"He did well and he's improved a lot and I wanted to keep him but he doesn't feel comfortable waiting for his time.

"I can't force a young player that wants to play regular football, because it means he's not happy and will not give his best."

Di Canio also revealed he is looking to loan out midfielder Ibrahim Atiku and Michael Timlin as well as defenders Kevin Amankwaah and Will Evans.
