Derry City face an away trip to Cork City in the final of the EA Sports Cup on Saturday 24 September (1800 BST).

Cork won the toss for the venue on Wednesday morning.

Derry beat Sligo Rovers 5-3 on penalties on Tuesday night, after the match ended 3-3, to book their place in the final.

Daniel Lafferty was among Derry's goalscorers on Tuesday but he was later sent-off and will be suspended for the decider at Turner's Cross.

Lafferty opened the scoring with a 33rd-minute header but Danny Ventre curled a shot into the corner to equalise on 45.

Stephen McLaughlin headed in on 75, Eoin Doyle levelled with a terrific finish on 79 before Lafferty was sent-off.

McLaughlin shot home after 93 but Doyle levelled again and Richie Ryan missed the vital penalty, Eugene Ferry saving, with McLaughlin's spot-kick sealing Derry's win.
