Peterborough United boss Darren Ferguson has criticised supporters who jeered his side during their .
It was Posh's first home defeat since November and comes off the back of a 7-1 win over Ipswich.
"Getting booed off at half-time, it's absolute nonsense, we've just won 7-1 in the Championship," Ferguson told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire.
"I don't know what people expect," the Scot added.
"And I think the players were really surprised and disappointed by that, and I was too.
"People moaning and groaning - maybe I should just buy a six foot nine centre forward and just boot it up to him."
Posh have started well in the Championship, winning both of their home games and scoring 12 goals across their four fixtures.
And the Boro loss was their first defeat at London Road since Charlton secured a 5-1 win over nine months ago.
"We're at a different level now, Middlesbrough are expected to get up near the play-offs," Ferguson said.
"It's not going to be like last season where you go and win every week, it's a different level, one we feel we've started well in.
"But tonight against Middlesbrough we've come unstuck."
