Newport County 1-3 Kidderminster

Blue Square Bet Premier

Newport had two players sent off for the second successive match as they crashed to defeat against Kidderminster.

Gary Warren was sent-off for a late challenge on Steve Guinan before Ismail Yakubu received a second yellow card.

Jack Byrne headed Harriers in front from close range only for Sam Foley to fire past Daniel Lewis to equalise.

Tom Miller's own goal restored the visitors' lead before Luke Jones headed a third after Yakubu was dismissed.

VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM

Kidderminster Harriers assistant manager Gary Whild told BBC Hereford and Worcester:"Last season they were the only team that was able to beat us twice so from our point of view we wanted to put that right.

"There was a little bit of that today but I am proud of the way the lads kept their discipline and stood up to the battering early on.

"They get behind their team here and make it difficult for you - they are a side that in the summer that went out and invested in the team so they are expecting to be up there."
