Brian Saah's first goal for Torquay put them on the way to a comfortable win over Macclesfield.
Summer signing Saah opened the scoring when he headed home Kevin Nicholson's corner at the far post.
Chris McPhee slid home the second after good work from Lee Mansell before Eunan O'Kane sealed the points, clipping the ball over Jose Veiga.
The Macc goalkeeper had been their best player - saving superbly from fierce strikes by Nicholson and Ian Morris.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Macclesfield Town manager Gary Simpson told BBC Radio Manchester:
"For 45 minutes we acquitted ourselves quite well, had a few chances but the second half we had a mad 20 minutes where they got the goal and they got their tails up.
"We had one or two having off days to be honest but we'll not beat ourselves up as it's a tough place to come.
"I thought the result was a bit flattering for them, but in saying that good luck to them."
