Hamilton had two men sent off and took the lead before being pegged back in stoppage time by Livingston.
Defender Mark McLaughlin was sent off for a professional foul on Bobby Barr and Simon Mensing was also dismissed after picking up two bookings.
But the home side took the lead on 78 minutes when Ali Crawford turned in James McAlister's left-wing cross.
