Carrick Rangers earned their second away win in three games as they deservedly beat Ballymena United in Tuesday's Premiership clash.

The visitors took the lead on 38 minutes as David McAlinden's deflected free-kick beat Dwayne Nelson.

Earlier in the first half, Allan Jenkins, Eamonn Murray and Jordan Baker had gone close for the Braidmen.

But Ballymena faded badly in the second half and Paul Heatley struck Carrick's second goal on 77.
