Alfreton Town have signed former Huddersfield Town, Oldham Athletic and Morecambe midfielder Andy Holdsworth.

Holdsworth, 27, was a free agent after leaving Morecambe at the end of a short-term deal in the summer.

Boss Nicky Law, who last week signed Burton Albion striker James Ellison on a month-long deal, was delighted.

Reds manager Nicky Law has also signed ex-Rotherham United midfielder Steve Brogan, 23, and former Burnley reserve defender Nikolaus Kudiersky, 20.

Law said: "Andy is a versatile player at the right age with loads of experience. He can also play at right-back and he has an air of composure about him.

"He is someone we're looking to to keep the ball and pass it."
