Bristol City's Jamie McAllister has been ruled out for two months with an ankle injury.
The 33-year-old Scotland defender, who has started every Championship game for City this season, will undergo surgery during the international break.
"This is the first operation I've required in my whole career," McAllister told the club website.
"It's such a bad time, with the new season under way, and I'll be working hard to get back as soon as possible."
