Crusaders earned a crucial three points thanks to a penalty by Colin Coates and a late goal from David McMaster.
Aidan Watson was denied by a Johnny Montgomery tackle and Ciaran Gargan went close, Terry Fitzpatrick turning his shot onto a post.
Johnny Topley's header was well saved by Sean O'Neill and then Coates scored with a penalty in the 40th minute after a foul on Stephen McBride in the area.
McMaster ensured victory with his goal two minutes from time.
