Luke Rooney's late penalty rescued a point for Gillingham against Accrington Stanley at Priestfield.
Sean Murdoch had a header for the Gills cleared off the line in the first half.
Substitute Ian Craney put Stanley ahead with just six minutes remaining, firing home a shot from inside the area after being set up by Luke Joyce.
But Gillingham were back on level terms with Rooney's spot-kick just two minutes later after Lewis Moult had fouled Danny Kedwell.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Manager Andy Hessenthaler told BBC Radio Kent:
"A draw was the right result, we certainly didn't deserve to lose. But there's something missing at the moment.
"Defensively we're OK but going the other way there's an essential ingredient missing.
"We've got to improve massively. There are people down on their game. It's not life or death, we're seven games in, we've just got to keep working hard and getting some confidence back.
"Hopefully we can go on a decent run again."
