Northampton 0-0 Torquay

Northampton are still looking for their first home win of the season after being held at home by Torquay.

Chris McPhee squandered a great chance for the visitors, allowing Cobblers keeper Sam Walker to save his shot when he was clean through on goal.

Torquay stopper Bobby Olenjik saved well from Michael Jacobs' free-kick, and denied Lewis Young as the midfielder raced clear late on.

The visitors nearly won it late on, but Lee Mansell twice had shots blocked.

VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM

Northampton Town manager Gary Johnson told BBC Radio Northampton:

"We kept their goalkeeper busy all game.

"You would hope that one of those opportunities would go in today and then we would have all gone home happy.

"When you see the amount of chances we had we are disappointed we haven't picked up all three points."

Torquay United boss Martin Ling told BBC Radio Devon:

"In the second half we lost a little bit of direction in terms of passing, but defensively we were very strong.

"I just felt that if a chance was going to come it was going to come our way.

"I thought we could have cut them open."
