Derby County have named their former defender and Notts County manager Craig Short as head of academy recruitment.
Short, who was sacked as Magpies boss last October, will also help boss Nigel Clough with some first-team duties.
Chief executive Tom Glick told BBC Radio Derby: "He's a very well respected, very well connected guy and highly intelligent so we're thrilled.
"Craig's looking to find 13-16-year-old talents to be a part of the academy, which is making great progress."
Clough told the club website: "Predominantly he will be involved in the recruitment side in the academy.
"But he has a lot of experience which we will look to tap into on the first-team side of things.
"He has a lot of good contacts in the game and will be a very good asset."
