Northern Ireland's chances of reaching the 2013 Under-21 European Championships appear slim after a second defeat in five days.

Steve Beaglehole's side fell to a 3-0 defeat against 10-man Denmark at the Oval in Belfast on Tuesday, following on from a 1-0 loss in Serbia.

Nicklas Helenius netted on six minutes for the Danes who had Mathias Jorgensen sent off before half-time.

Andreas Laudrup and Emil Larsen scored in the last 10 minutes,

The result leaves Northern Ireland struggling on four points out of a possible 12 in Group Four.

Coach Beaglehole was without a handful of regulars, including Josh Carson and Andrew Little who had been called up to the senior side after returning from Belgrade.
