Cameroon's Marcel Ndjeng will miss the next five weeks of the German season because of an ankle problem.

The midfielder for Bundesliga new-boys Augsburg needs minor surgery on his ankle.

Ndjeng, 29, has played all four league games this season, after Augsburg were promoted to the Bundesliga for the first time in their history.

"I had some pain again," Ndjeng, who has won a handful of Indomitable Lions caps, said on Monday after training.

Augsburg already have cover for Ndjeng in Gambian midfielder Dawda Bah, who signed from HJK Helsinki before the transfer window closed on 31 August.

Bah, 27, can play on either the left or right wing.

Ndjeng was born in Germany but represents Cameroon at international level.
