Jersey Nomads beat Sporting Academics 7-0 in the standout result on the opening full day of Championship games.

Sammy Wright and Stephen Phelan each got two for Nomads with singles by Carl Winn, Matt Alfred and Paul Starkey.

Dane Sytton scored twice for St Brelade as they crushed Magpies 5-1 at the Airport Field.

Kyle Hampshire, James Walsh and a Danny Flynn penalty sealed the win, as the western side went third in the table, a place behind Nomads.

The clash between the two relegated Premiership sides - Portuguese Club and St Clement - ended goalless, with Portuguese staying top by a point, but having played one extra game.

Ben Cesar struck twice as St Martin/SCF beat St John 3-0 to go fourth, while St Lawrence drew 2-2 with Beeches.
