The Blues increased their lead at the top of the Carling Premiership to three points after this controversial win.
The Crues were edging affairs but they were incensed when Chris Morrow was given a straight red card for a challenge on Aaron Burns on 45 minutes.
The dismissal changed the balance of the game and Jim Ervin fired in the opener from a 70th minute corner.
Robert Garrett doubled the lead three minutes later with a superb 25-yard strike which hit the top corner.
