Northampton Town defender Byron Webster has broken a metatarsal and will be out for six weeks.
The 24-year-old centre-half was replaced in injury time of Saturday's 0-0 draw against Torquay.
Boss Gary Johnson is more hopeful on midfielder Aaron Davies though, who was replaced after 65 minutes.
"I don't think his hamstring's gone. He just sort of tweaked the hamstring," Johnson told BBC Radio Northampton after the game.
"He's experienced enough to say 'gaffer, I don't want to push this'."
Webster, a summer arrival from Doncaster, has featured 10 times for the Cobblers this season.
