Mansfield Town manager Paul Cox wants Tom Naylor's future resolved as quickly as possible.

The 20-year-old defender is spending a week with Premier League team Fulham, having spent last week on trial with Championship side Derby County.

Cox told BBC Radio Nottingham: "I don't want league clubs messing us around. They have to make a decision on him.

"If they don't want to make a decision we'll close the door because I don't want Tom's head being kept turned."

Naylor returned to the Stags to be among the substitutes for Saturday's 5-0 demolition of Newport County.

But Cox said continued uncertainty would not be good for anyone.

"You want his sights set on us if he is stopping with us, or if he is going to get a move, you want that done quickly," Cox added.

"It's not good for both parties if he is being messed around."
