Northampton Town have signed Bristol City striker Marlon Jackson on a youth loan until 19 November.

The 20-year-old completed the move shortly before Tuesday night's 3-0 win at AFC Wimbledon and played 72 minutes before being replaced by Jake Robinson.

Manager Gary Johnson told BBC Radio Northampton: "Someone that quick puts defenders on the back foot.

"We've got good players here and, if they start performing together, we've got the makings of a very good side."

All of Jackson's appearances for the Robins have come from the bench.

The forward, who can also play out wide, has had loan spells at Hereford and Aldershot, scoring once in 26 starts across two stints for the Shots.

Jackson's switch to Sixfields expires after the Cobblers' game with Shrewsbury on 19 November.
