Leicester City boss Sven Goran-Eriksson has denied that midfielder Matt Oakley is poised to join Derby County on loan.
Oakley signed a new deal in March which keeps him at the club until June 2012.
But he has only played in the Carling Cup this season and BBC Radio Derby had reported that the Rams hope to re-sign their 34-year-old former skipper.
Eriksson told BBC Radio Leicester: "He trained with us [Thursday] and I spoke to him and he didn't say anything. I don't think there's anything in it."
The Swede continued: "I am sure that if Matt wants to go to another club to have more games he will come to me and the club."
Derby had hoped to sign Oakley in time to face Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
He joined the Rams in August 2006 after 12 years at Southampton. Oakley played 63 games while at Pride Park before moving to Leicester in January 2008.
