Daniel Hone's second-half goal secured a point for Lincoln City in a game of few chances.
Forest Green took the lead after just 90 seconds when Curtis McDonald's looping header beat Joe Anyon.
The Imps equalised on the hour mark when John Nutter swung in a free-kick for Hone to convert a powerful header.
Lincoln were denied victory late in the game when substitute Josh O'Keefe's header was tipped over by Rovers keeper James Bittner.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Forest Green Rovers manager Dave Hockaday tells BBC Gloucestershire:
"I'm disappointed with the way that we conceded, but to come to Lincoln and be disappointed with a draw shows how far we've come.
"Unfortunately we didn't put the one great chance of the game away and I'm disappointed that they scored with a free header.
"Over the course of the game a draw is a fair result but when you're 1-0 up, we should be looking to close that out, which we've done quite well recently."
