Evan Horwood came off the bench to extend Hartlepool's unbeaten run with a late winner at Bournemouth.
Steven Gregory gave the home side the lead when his powerful 25-yard drive beat Scott Flinders.
Hartlepool equalised when Darryl Flahaven got a hand to Nolberto Solano's 25-yard free-kick, but could not prevent it from going in.
Pools' victory was secured when Horwood's fearsome half-volley went in off the underside of the crossbar.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
AFC Bournemouth manager Lee Bradbury told BBC Radio Solent:
"I thought we were the better side, we performed well but at the end of the day it's the goals that count.
"I'm just looking for consistency as a manager. Sometimes you are on the positive end of those decisions and other times it drives you mad when you're not.
"Jaime Peters had a good afternoon, he's versatile and got a lot of pace. He's not played any first team football this season but he gave me a good 75 minutes and I was pleased with his overall performance."
Hartlepool United head coach Mick Wadsworth speaks to BBC Tees about goalkeeper Scott Flinders:
"What I like about Scott is that a lot of balls go into his hands, he's not moving.
"I've always thought in my many years in football that when that happens the goalkeeper knows what he's doing, he knows where to be and his positional play is outstanding.
"When that happened on a number of occasions that things went to him and I think that is relative to his good play."
