Pulis won't make excuses for defeat

Stoke manager Tony Pulis says travelling to Kiev to play in the Europa League last week is not an excuse for a poor performance.

The Potters lost 4-0 away to Sunderland and the 56-year-old cited the recent mining tragedy in Swansea as an example of real life hardship that footballers would do well to remember.

The former Portsmouth boss said they had "a bad day at the office" and they'd have to "accept it and move on".
