John Fenty has resigned as chairman of Blue Square Bet Premier side Grimsby Town with immediate effect.
Grimsby chief executive Ian Fleming will speak on behalf of the club and directors until a replacement for Fenty is found.
Fenty, 50, had been chairman at the club for seven years.
An investigation is currently being undertaken to look into the relationship between former vice-chairman Mike Parker and Fenty.
