Darlington's winless run was extended to six league games as they slumped to a home defeat against Southport.
Goals from Simon Grand, Kevin Lee and Tony Gray gave the Sandgrounders their third successive away victory.
Grand put Southport in front when he headed in Shaun Whalley's corner, before Lee doubled the visitors' advantage with a close-range finish.
Gray sealed the rout by slotting home from the edge of the area as Darlington failed to register a shot on target.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Southport manager Liam Watson tells BBC Radio Merseyside:
"For the players, you've got to give them a massive pat on the back.
"It's a massive test of character to lose 4-0 at home on Saturday and come to Darlington and dominate the whole game.
"We said we wanted 12 wins and that will probably guarantee our safety in the league and we've five already, so by the end of September we need seven."
