Northampton Town midfielder Arron Davies says that it is the players' responsibility to energise the club's fans in home matches.

The 27-year-old scored his third goal of the season for the Cobblers in the 2-1 win over Dagenham & Redbridge.

Davies told BBC Radio Northampton: "The home form is massive in any league and it got a bit nervy towards the end.

"We've got to get the fans off their seats. They've been good, and will be even better as we start winning games."

Davies joined Gary Johnson's side from Peterborough United in the summer, following his release from the Championship team.

"In patches, we've showed what we can do," he said.

"We've got a couple of games now where we're fancied to go on a run. We've threatened to do it for a while but we've got to start doing it rather saying it."
