Notts County midfielder Gavin Mahon has said he hopes to extend his deal to the end of the season.
Mahon, 34, is currently on a pay-as-you-play contract.
He told BBC Radio Nottingham: "I had to prove my fitness, which I think I've done. When you're on a pay-as-you-play deal you just want to keep fit.
"You don't duck out of 50-50 tackles but you have to be careful not to pick up silly injuries or suspensions because you won't get paid."
He added: "The manager called me a few weeks ago and said he'd like to try to extend the deal to the end of the season.
"It's a good club and has a good chance of achieving things, so why move on? I'm enjoying myself here."
Mahon has made six appearances for the Magpies since joining in August.
