Two goals in the first 15 minutes ultimately proved enough to earn Worcester City all three points against Bishop's Stortford at St George's Lane.
Winger Simon Brown put City ahead from the penalty spot just five minutes in, after being fouled by Alli Abdullahi.
Striker Mike Symonds scored his seventh goal of the season eight minutes later from Martyn Naylor's free-kick.
The visitors rallied after the break, reducing the deficit with an 89th-minute strike from Michael Bakare.
City's victory moves them up to seventh in Blue Square Bet North, just one point adrift of the play-off pack.

Worcester City manager Carl Heeley told BBC Hereford and Worcester:
"We won the game but we were not over happy with the performance.
"We have played well this season and not got anything so, to win a game when we haven't played well, we are happy with that.
"We didn't string many passes together and that led to us surrendering possession too easily."
