Macclesfield Town manager Gary Simpson is unsure how much longer the club can hold on to right-back Elliott Hewitt.
Hewitt, 17, made his debut as a 16-year-old against Hereford last season.
"If there is a better right-back in the bottom two divisions as we speak I haven't seen one," Simpson told BBC Radio Manchester.
"He's absolutely unbelievable to say he's only just 17. Whether we can hang onto him I very much doubt. All the big boys are hovering."
Hewitt, who has come through the youth system at the Moss Rose, has featured regularly this season, making eight appearances.
The teenage full-back, who made his Wales-U21 debut in August, won his second cap earlier this month against Montenegro.
