Hull City are work in process - Nick Barmby

Hull City player-coach Nick Barmby believes there is more to come from his side, who are close to the play-off places after nine matches.

They drew at Bristol City and Doncaster in their last two games, despite taking the lead in both matches.

Barmby told BBC Look North: "That's how far we've come since the start of the season when we started a little shaky but we're still a work in progress."

The Tigers, who host Cardiff on Saturday, are unbeaten in five games.

Barmby said: "To remain unbeaten in five games is a good run in any division. But it's a bit disappointing when in the last two games we could have come away with three points."

The former Tottenham and Liverpool man, 37, has featured in eight of the Tigers' games this season despite having coaching responsibility for the club's reserve team.
