Grimsby Town have reached a verbal agreement with left-back Jamie Green over a contract until January, a deal that is due to be signed next week.

Green, signed on non-contract terms at the start of September, is currently out, recovering from a knee injury.

Mariners joint manager Paul Hurst told BBC Radio Humberside: "I think it might only be until January but that might suit both parties."

"That's what we've agreed in principle, but until it's signed you never know."

The 22-year old former Rotherham United man has made four appearances for the club.
