Tony Vance says Guernsey FC will not "steamroller" their league after they beat South Kilburn 3-0.

Jamie Dodd, Jason Winch and Dominic Heaume all found the net, but Guernsey were scoreless until the hour mark.

"For all those who think we're going to thrash everybody and steamroller the league this weekend was proof that's not the case," Vance told BBC Guernsey.

"The scoreline gives the impression that we won easily but it was 1-0 right until the end."

Guernsey are still six points clear at the top of Combined Counties League Division One having dropped just two points so far this season.

"This weekend proved that we don't have a divine right to win a football match, you've got to go and grind out a result," added Vance.

But with a host of leading players out with injuries, Vance was pleased with how his squad coped.

"They've done fantastically well and shown that they can play at this level and keep their place in the squad," he added.

"It sends a message to the ones who are injured or out of the squad that we've got 33 or 34 players who can play at this level."
