West Ham United have signed Arsenal goalkeeper Manuel Almunia on a one-month emergency loan after Robert Green was ruled out for around six weeks.
The 34-year-old Spaniard has joined in time for Saturday's Championship trip to London rivals Crystal Palace.
England international Green will be out of action while recovering from a knee cartilage injury.
Almunia, who has played 175 games for Arsenal, is yet to make an appearance this season.
The former Recreativo and Celta Vigo keeper, who also had a loan spell at Albacete, has lost his place at Emirates Stadium to Polish youngster Wojciech Szczesny.
Hammers boss Sam Allardyce told West Ham TV: "We've been hot on the phone and secured an excellent signing in the short-term in Manuel.
"It's a big thank you again to Arsene Wenger and Arsenal for allowing us to get such a high-class and experienced goalkeeper to fill in for Robert."
Almunia joins fellow Arsenal team-mate on loan at Upton Park.
