Ebbsfleet Utd 0-1 Gateshead

Gateshead moved back to the top of Blue Square Bet Premier thanks to Jeff Henderson's first-half strike at struggling Ebbsfleet.

The hosts started brightly and Michael West, Craig Stone and Calum Willock all came close to giving the Fleet a lead inside 10 minutes.

The visitors came into the game before the interval and Henderson fired in from Josh Gillies' corner.

Heed keeper Paul Farman saved well from Willock as they held out for the win.

VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM

Ebbsfleet manager Liam Daish told BBC Radio Kent:

"We defended poorly for their goal, when we got good possession in the final third we huffed and puffed but didn't get anything on target and cause them problems.

"We get to the first phase, and it's not bad but it's that final ball, cross and shot which is not there at the moment.

"We've got to start scoring goals and keeping clean sheets."
