Oxford Utd 3-0 Bristol Rovers

Oxford stretched their unbeaten league run to six games with a routine victory over Bristol Rovers.

Scott Rendell almost gave Rovers the lead before James Constable put the U's ahead with a wonderful strike after Simon Heslop's powerful run.

Peter Leven made it 2-0 from the penalty spot after Byron Anthony fouled Robert Hall in the area.

After concerted home pressure, Constable made the points safe with a neat finish from Heslop's cross.

VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM

Oxford United boss Chris Wilder told BBC Radio Oxford:

"A fantastic result. A great effort from everybody. When they have to dig in they dig in and they worked extremely hard today.

"They had a big focus to win this game. These are big games in the league, it was a big crowd, great crowd.

"It was two teams having a go at it and I'm delighted that we have come out on top."
