Coleraine 2-0 Donegal Celtic

Coleraine leapfrogged Donegal Celtic to move into third in the Premiership table as they easily beat the West Belfast side at the Showgrounds.

DC were without influential trio Paul McVeigh, Darren Murray and Ryan Henderson and in truth, they were never in the contest.

Shane Jennings put the dominant Bannsiders ahead on 41 minutes.

Coleraine continued to boss the contest and Jonny Black struck the second from a penalty in the 70th minute.

The Bannsiders were minus flu-afflicted Leon Knight but DC's playing strength was even more seriously affected as McVeigh and Murray were ruled out by suspension with Henderson unavailable because of his honeymoon.

Coleraine dominated from the off and Celtic keeper Robert Robinson made a great save to deny Curtis Allen after good work by Jennings.

Robinson then denied Allen but the goal did come on 41 minutes as Jennings fired home at the backpost after a Stephen Lowry corner.

Coleraine could have extended their lead before the break but Jonny Harkness cleared Allen's effort off the line.

DC never seriously looked like grabbing an equaliser and the home win was secured as Darren McNamee fouled Allen in the penalty area which allowed Black to hammer past Robinson.
