Fabien Frei is set for his Switzerland debut in their 2012 European qualifying clash with Wales in Swansea on Friday.

The 22-year-old midfielder, who scored in FC Basel's recent Champions League draw at Manchester United, wins his first Swiss call in their 21-man squad.

Frei joins Arsenal's Johan Djourou, Fulham defender Philippe Senderos and Juventus new boy Stephan Lichtsteiner in Ottmar Hitzfeld's squad.

But Switzerland will be without Frei's FC Basel team-mate Alexander Frei.

The 32-year-old striker quit international footballer earlier this year.
