Lincoln City captain Josh Gowling hopes Saturday's 2-0 Blue Square Bet Premier victory over Bath City will ease the pressure on manager Steve Tilson.

First-half goals from Sam Smith and Gavin McCallum earned the Imps only their second home win of the season.

"We know the gaffer's under pressure," Gowling told BBC Lincolnshire. "We're all under pressure to be honest.

"We know the fans haven't been happy with us. We want everyone to stick with us, we want to be together as a unit."

Gowling, who joined the Imps in the summer, added: "We should be doing something in this league.

"The gaffer and Brushy [assistant boss Paul Brush] want to be here and they want to work with us and we want to try our best for them."
