Forest Green Rovers have signed Eddie Oshodi on a two-year deal.
The 19-year-old defender has been without a club since his release from Watford in the summer but had been playing for Burton Albion's reserves.
Rovers manager Dave Hockaday told BBC Gloucestershire: "I jumped at the chance to get him in.
"He's impressed everyone with his power, his pace and his leadership qualities so he's a very strong addition to the squad."
Hockaday added: "Potentially he can play at a very high level but he's another one who's got a little bit lost and now just needs to play."
Oshodi worked with Hockaday during his time in the Watford academy.
He made two first-team appearances for the Hornets and also enjoyed two loan spells at Rushden and Dagenham and Redbridge.
