Chief executive Perry Deakin has been appointed onto the board of directors at League Two club Port Vale.
Deakin, who announced his candidacy last month, received enough votes from shareholders and will join the Vale board with immediate effect.
He told the club website: "My role at the club will not change and I will continue to manage the business from top to bottom on a day-to-day basis."
Meanwhile, former chairman Bill Bratt has resigned his position on the board.
Bratt announced in August that he would leave his position on the board at Vale Park once the club had completed a £5m investment deal with American sports construction firm Blue Sky International.
