Havant & Waterlooville have sealed the signing of former Juventus striker Vincent Pericard on a free transfer.

Pericard, 29, was a free agent having left Swindon last season and had been training with AFC Bournemouth.

He began his career at St Etienne in 1999 and his previous clubs include Portsmouth and Stoke while Pericard also played for France's Under-21 side.

Pericard's arrival at the Blue Square Bet South side comes following Wes Fogden's move to Bournemouth on loan.

The Cameroon-born striker came to English football having come to the attention of the then Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp during a Champions League tie between Juventus and Arsenal. It was his sole appearance for the Italian side.

Pericard moved from Portsmouth to Sheffield United and then Plymouth on loan before sealing a permanent move to Stoke.

While at the Potters he was given a four-month sentence at the end of August for trying to lie his way out of a speeding conviction.

Pericard also spent loan spells at Southampton and Millwall before free transfers to Carlisle and Swindon.
