Macclesfield 1-1 Oxford United

Robert Hall rescued a last-gasp point for Oxford United at Macclesfield as they extended their unbeaten run to eight games.

The 17-year-old, who earlier hit the bar, scored his fourth goal in seven games with a deflected effort.

Macc were aggrieved as they felt Oxford should have kicked the ball out with one of their players down injured.

Tony Diagne had given the hosts the lead on the hour with a looping header after Scott Boden hit the woodwork.

Macc should have scored in the first half, when everyone stopped playing expecting a penalty after Boden had his shirt tugged by Damian Batt, and no-one kicked the ball into the empty net.

The result moves Oxford up to third in the League Two table, just one point above eighth-placed Gillingham.

Macclesfield Town manager Gary Simpson told BBC Radio Manchester:

"We should have had two penalties, absolutely blatant. Pulled his shirt off for one and the other one he's absolutely felled him in the box.

"I don't know what they're looking at. I think if they watch the DVD they will be embarrassed.

"The kid (Scott Boden) put a shift in, as they all did and it's disappointing that we don't come away with all the points."
