Andy Cook hit a hat-trick as Barrow beat Hayes and Yeading to earn their third successive home win.
Cook broke the deadlock inside the first minute, heading home defender Gavin Skelton's left-wing cross.
He drilled home a right-foot shot just past the half hour before completing his treble three minutes into the second half with another header.
Louie Soares' penalty earned Hayes a consolation after Paul Smith had fouled Pierre Joseph-Dubois in the box.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Barrow joint-boss Dave Bayliss told BBC Radio Cumbria:
"It's a great win for us, 23 points now towards safety, any win in this league is a tough one, and another hard-earned one this week.
"I thought we played better on Tuesday (in the defeat by Grimsby) but Andy Cook was clinical today with his chances, and that's why we rate him so highly.
"He has had three attempts and score three goals and that's a mark of the lad, if he gets chances he'll score goals."
