Torquay 'lack penetration' says manager Martin Ling

Torquay United are lacking attacking penetration, according to their manager Martin Ling.

The Gulls lost 1-0 at Bradford City, despite playing against 10 men for 66 minutes after Andrew Davies was sent off for a foul on Danny Stevens.

"We lacked penetration," Ling told BBC Radio Devon after the defeat.

"They never had to stretch to defend, it was always quite comfortable for them to defend and that was down to our poor play really."

Ling says that his side must start to get results if they are to replicate last season when they reached the League Two play-off final.

"It's six now without a win and it starts to grind," he said.

"We had a good start to the season and it's drifted and we've drifted into mid-table, but we do need to start putting winning performances together, that's for sure."
