Linfield captain Michael Gault is doubtful for Wednesday night's IRN-BRU League Cup third round game against Glenavon with a foot injury.

Gault had four stitches inserted in the injury and is not likely to be risked.

Blues manager David Jeffrey may opt to start with a number of players who have seen limited first-team action of late.

Glenavon manager Marty Quinn will make changes to his starting line-up after Saturday's defeat by Crusaders, with Brendan Shannon back after suspension.

William Murphy, Kris Lindsay, Billy Joe Burns, Marcus Kane and Neil Dougan may all be offered an opportunity to show what they can do for the Blues.

Donegal Celtic's Darren Murray has been handed a six-match ban for a headbutting offence so he is ruled out of Donegal Celtic's home match against Dergview.

Paul McVeigh and Niall Atkinson return after bans and Declan O'Hara is back after injury.

Paddy Kelly must plan without the injured Paul Bradley however.

"Our home form has been atrocious so we will not be taking Dergview lightly," said Kelly.

Championship side Bangor will hope to cause an upset when they play Ballymena at Clandeboye Park while Limavady United travel to face Premiership opposition in the form of Carrick Rangers, at Seaview.

Ballymena will have Denver Gage suspended after he was sent-off in the latter stages of Saturday's defeat by Portadown.

Pat McGibbon's Newry City, relegated last season, face Coleraine.

Glentoran will take on in-form Portadown at the Oval while reigning League Cup champions Lisburn Distillery are at home to Crusaders.

The Ports will be without the suspended Brian Gartland.

Cliftonville will hope to repeat their weekend success over Dungannon Swifts, who have a number of players absent through injury.

Adam McMinn, Ryan Mullan, Ryan O'Neill, Darren Murphy, Johnny Topley and PJ Lavery are all unavailable.
