Alfreton Town have signed Lee Stevenson on a one-month loan from Blue Square Bet Premier rivals Mansfield Town.

The 27-year-old midfielder has made just one appearance this season - away at Gateshead - but has been hindered by a foot injury for most of the campaign.

Manager Paul Cox told the club's websiteexternal-link: "Lee has just come back from injury and hasn't played a lot of football this season.

"It was a hard one [to let him go] but he needs sharpness and match fitness."

Cox added: "He won't get that by playing behind-closed-door games.

"The loan is in both Lee's interests, and the club. He'll come back with a fresh impetus."

Stevenson followed Cox from Eastwood Town to Field Mill in the summer.

He will not be allowed to play for Alfreton against the Stags on Saturday, 22 October.
