Manager Steve Ogier says his Guernsey Priaulx League side for the FA Inter-League Cup is strong, despite many of the island's top players playing for Guernsey FC.
Guernsey are the reigning champions and travel to Cullompton to face the Devon and Exeter League in the first round.
But Ogier has few of that victorious side to pick from as they are playing in the Combined Counties League.
"I'm quite happy with the squad we've got," Ogier told BBC South West.
"We've got a good balance, got some good footballers in there and some flair and imagination in there as well," he added.
Ollie McKenzie and Craig Young have played for Guernsey FC this season while Piers Ockleford is also in the squad having made his debut in the Combined Counties League last week.
"We felt it was important to support he players playing week in, week out, in the local league," Ogier added.
And he says that with Guernsey being the reigning champions, it may mean they are the team everyone wants to beat.
"It might add extra spice for opposition, but as long as we focus on our game plan and how we want how we want to play, we'll do well," he said.
