Oxford United have extended the loan stay of Bury forward Andy Haworth until 5 November.
Haworth, 22, has made three appearances for the U's since joining on loan but made his first start in Saturday's 3-0 victory over Bristol Rovers.
"I am very pleased to have extended my loan," Haworth told the club website.
He added on BBC Radio Oxford: "It was great to get that first start and hopefully I can kick on, improve my fitness and show my best form now."
The U's have gone seven games unbeaten in all competitions and are in the southern area quarter-finals of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.
They are currently fifth in League Two, three points behind leaders Southend.
And Haworth, who has overcome his injury problems, hopes to be a feature of Oxford United's side as they look to continue their recent fine form.
"The first month I had problems with my ankle but it's 100% now and I felt good on Saturday," he said.
"The potential is there to kick on. The fans were great and the team played really well and the whole squad has got a confidence about them in training.
"We just need to keep that consistency, especially at home and if we can continue to win our home games there is no reason why we can't stay in the play-off places all season."
