Carlisle United have signed utility player Jeremy Helan from Manchester City on a one-month loan deal.
The 19-year-old Clairefontaine academy graduate, who can play in both defence and midfield, has represented France up to Under-19 level.
"We are starting to build a good relationship with Manchester City," said United boss Greg Abbott.
"He has a good reputation, is very versatile, strong, a good footballer. He will add to the options we have."
Despite travelling to the United States and Poland with the City first team during preseason tours, the former Rennes player is yet to make his first-team debut at Eastlands.
There was some controversy surrounding Helan's move to Manchester City, as Rennes reported the club to Fifa amid poaching claims, that were dismissed by the Premier League club.
